PETER PAN REDESIGNS
In this project, I needed to redesign three characters from a fairytale or folklore story and illustrate various art pieces that display compelling relationship dynamics, personalities and technical skills.
I chose Barrie’s ‘Peter Pan’ to rework – where I reimagined Wendy as an overworked and tired young adult who dreamed of being whisked away to a different world. Only to regret that fantasy upon landing in Neverland, getting caught inbetween Peter and Captain Hook’s feuds.
PIXEL ART CHARACTER CONCEPTS
Because the requirements for the assignment were flexible, I chose to develop two character designs and 64x64pt sprites for a 2D, pixel art RPG.
Due to time limitations, the design and creation process was straightforward: ideas were curated through a Pinterest image board, which inspired character sketches to determine personality and design – before delving into colour scheme iteration and sprite work.
As a result, I came out of the project with two full-body renders of Chiaki and Raijin Saito, two 64x64 sprite sheets (with 12 sprites each) and two chibi character designs.
